Mission Green: Best Practices for Sustainable Space Operations

3rd April 2023 - The Space Safety Coallition updated the latest guidelines on best practices for the sustainability of Space Operations. (link to full document: Here.)

Space exploration has always been a dream of humanity and now that the dreams is becoming a reality, the goal is not only to explore space, but also ensure that space missions are launched in a way that is environmentally responsible and sustainable! 

Updated international guidelines and standards regarding space sustainbility and debris mitigation are referenced in this document. 21 consenses are established to address various aspect on long-term sustainbaliy of space missions. 

In Re CAE, our focus is squarely on achieving the shared goal. In our steadfast dedication to help encourage and follow these practices, Re CAE will intercede in the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) Navigation Working Group standards by providing easy-access for conveyance of:

  • orbit,

  • altitude,

  • reentry,

  • tracking,

  • launch,

  • fragmentation and

  • event data. 

to space operators. 

Space sustainability is not just a concept, it's a responsibility.
