ESA ESOC zero debris operations workshop

Re CAE had the privilege to participate in the zero debris workshop by ESA. This workshop brought together experts, industry leaders and stakeholders to discuss on viable solutions for mitigating and preventing space debris.

ESA has been at the forefront of addressing the space debris challenge with comprehensive approach. The ESA’s Zero Debris initiative emphasises prevention, mitigation and active removal strategies to ensure a sustainable space environment.

Several key themes were explored to tackle the space debris challenge comprehensively, including:

  • Collision avoidance,

  • In-orbit collision risk,

  • reliable disposal operations,

  • failure prediction,

  • mission plan re-evaluation,

  • space traffic coordination.
